Creepy Cat Dress for eHAG May

As the Wheel of the Year continues to spin, our thoughts turn to the Fall, where the Autumn People Dwell. Halloween is never too far from our minds as we seek comfort in the colors of burnt orange and black. The smell of leaves burning, marshmallows roasting, pumpkin pies baking…

My offering for this months eHAG theme of “Creepy Cats” is this one of a kind black and gray linen dress.

It’s over sized with black and white drawstrings at the neck, sleeves and along the side hems at the bottom.

It can be worn with a short or long sleeve t shirt but the arm holes can be adjusted with the drawstring to fit any size.

It is shredded and torn, stitched and restitched to remind us of how feral a cat can be- I created this using black linen fabric and a woven linen that is black and taupe- the edges fray showing both colors. I free cut and appliquéd a dancing black cat on the front. There’s giant pockets that are deep and full of magic!

It’s easy to wear and measures 70” wide, high at center front (39” from shoulder to hem) and low on the side bottom hem (48”) so it works for all sizes and heights.
